Document AuthenticationTM Reports

The ECE® Document Authentication™ Report is a specialized institutional report that confirms the legitimacy of academic documents submitted by your organization. If you conduct your own evaluations but want expert assurance that the underlying documentation is genuine, the Document Authentication™ report is right for you!

This report is available only to institutions and organizations and is based on our standard document requirements.

Why Choose the Document AuthenticationTM Report?

ECE® evaluations are grounded in rigorous documentation standards developed to prevent fraud. With over 45 years of experience and a vast library of sample documents, ECE offers trusted authentication services that help you make confident decisions.

The Document Authentication™ report:

  • Confirms the presence and authenticity of security features (e.g., watermarks, holographic images, microtext)
  • Reviews formats and signatures for consistency with known standards
  • Validates the source of electronic or emailed documents using technical analysis

Note: This report does not include a U.S. equivalency or educational summary; it strictly confirms that the documents are real and fraud-free.

Some organizations use the terms verification and authentication interchangeably. At ECE, however, they are distinct processes. Verification involves contacting the issuing institution for confirmation; authentication is the process of reviewing the document itself for genuineness and comparing it against ECE’s extensive experience, resources, and document samples. If there are issues based on the review, ECE may also contact the issuing institution directly as part of the authentication process.

ECE will inform your institution if documents are confirmed to be falsified or if authenticity cannot be established.
