Meet Lauren McLellan, Client Solutions Manager
From teaching young students to helping institutions navigate international education, Lauren McLellan brings a wealth of experience to her role as ECE’s Client Solutions Manager. When she’s not helping clients, you might find her paddleboarding in Florida, getting lost in a good mystery novel, or planning her next adventure. Get to know Lauren, including her unforgettable Halloween costume, love of travel, and what makes her the ultimate “passenger princess”!
Q & A Session.
Q: What's your background? What did you do before joining ECE?
I was a classroom teacher that transitioned into Higher Education. I've primarily taught Kindergarten - 2nd Grade and have a soft spot for Reading and Language instruction. When I transitioned to Higher Ed., I started out as an academic advisor for a local college. After COVID closed many international offices, I moved over to re-open our office as the Coordinator of International Admissions and PDSO before coming to ECE.
Q: What do you do at ECE? What excites you most about your position and/or your team?
I work with institutions and organizations, helping them set up their account and figuring out how our products and services can meet their needs. I love being able to make our clients’ lives easier!
Q: ECE prides itself on our Halloween celebrations. What’s your favorite Halloween costume (at any age)?
My favorite Halloween costume was during college. My friends and I coordinated a big, themed group costume! One person was a giant calendar, and the rest of us were holidays. We had Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, birthday, Cinco de Mayo, and Easter!
Q: What’s one of your favorite activities when you’re not working? Tell us something that others might find surprising.
Being a born and raised Florida girl, you can often find me paddleboarding or kayaking. I love being at the lake, springs, or at the beach!
Q: Where have you traveled inside or outside of the U.S.? Do you have a favorite country, city, or region that you like to visit?
I lived in Copan Ruinas, Honduras for four years after college.
Q: Are there any books or movies that you simply could not put down or kept thinking about long after you had read or watched them? Why?
I often can't put down good books! I love reading, especially suspense/horror/mystery, historical fiction, and magical realism. I'm a big Agatha Christie fan, but my current favorites are Mexican Gothic and The Inheritance of Orchidea Divina.

Q. Vacation or staycation?
Vacation. I love to travel and explore new places.
Q. Passenger or driver?
Passenger. I'm the quintessential passenger princess. Snacks, blanket, and all the hype about wherever we're headed! I'll find the nearest coffee shop, the best playlist, and calculate the sweet spot of cost and time vs. toll roads and the scenic route.
Q. City or Country?
Country. I've had flocks of backyard chickens more than once and would love to end up on some land with more animals!
Q. Attend a party or host a party?
Attend a party. If I'm feeling social, attend a party - none of the cleanup and all of the fun!
Q. Sweating or shivering?
Sweating. Florida native - I'm cold when it's below 75 degrees :)
Q. Fiction or nonfiction?
Fiction. The more imagination, the better!
Q. Hot or iced coffee?
Iced coffee. Again - Florida girl! It's too hot for hot coffee 360 days of the year.
Q. Patterned or plain?
Plain. By "plain", the answer is really "pink".
