Cal State Apply Instructions

Cal State Apply is a Centralized Application Service (CAS) that simplifies the process of applying to California State University (CSU) programs.

Before applying:

✔ You will need to create an ECE® user account, if you do not already have one.

IMPORTANT: Your email address used for your ECE® account needs to be an exact match to the email address used on your CAS account.

✔ Once you have an ECE® user account, be sure to completely log out of your ECE® account before accessing your Cal State Apply account.

✔ Cal State Apply only accepts evaluation reports during open CAS cycles. More information on the CAS cycle can be found here: Cal State Apply Cycle Dates.

Report Type

Cal State Apply requires a Course by Course ($199) evaluation report.

If you already had an ECE® Course by Course evaluation report completed within the last 5 years, read the section below about Ordering ECE Report Copies.

To apply for an ECE® Evaluation Report:

You MUST begin the application process on the Cal State Apply site. 

  1. Complete the Cal State Apply application to receive a Centralized Application Service (CAS) ID#.   

    • It is very important that you add the international schools you attended in the Colleges Attended section of the Cal State Apply account.

  2. From your Cal State Apply account, select the ORDER ECE® Evaluation button from where you will be redirected to the ECE® login page.  

  3. Once logged in to your ECE® account, complete the online application for an ECE® Course by Course evaluation report.  

    • An official ECE report copy for Cal State will be automatically added to your order.  

  4. After the ECE online application has been submitted, send your educational documentation according to the ECE® country-specific documentation requirements.

Ordering ECE Report Copies

If you already had an ECE® Course by Course evaluation report completed within the last 5 years, you can order a copy sent to Cal State Admissions.

Be sure to completely log out of your ECE® user account before accessing your Cal State Apply account.

IMPORTANT: ECE official report copies for Cal State should only be ordered when the Cal State Apply cycle is open. If a copy is ordered prior to the Cal State Apply cycle opening, it will not appear in your Cal State Apply account, and a new copy will need to be ordered when the Cal State Apply cycle opens.

  1. Complete the Cal State Apply Application to receive a Centralized Application Service (CAS) ID#.   

    • It is very important that you add the international schools you attended in the Colleges Attended section of the Cal State Apply account.

  2. From your Cal State Apply account, select the ORDER ECE® Evaluation button from where you will be redirected to the ECE® login page.  

  1. Log in to your ECE® account and complete a Copy Request Order for an official electronic copy to be delivered to Cal State.

    • An official ECE report copy for Cal State will be automatically added to your order.
